ROLO (Register of Land Based Operatives - One day Training with Integrated Test)
A basic health and safety qualification which allows the operator to work on construction sites. It is the precursor to a CSCS card ( after an online test). The awarding body is BALI the British Association of Landscape Industries. Most construction companies will not allow people on their sites without some form of health and safety qualification.
This intensive one day course covers the basics of health and safety law, regulations, risk assessment, hazard awareness, protective equipment, electrical awareness, excavations, work at height, PUWER, LOLER amongst many other things.
The course consists of about 6 hours of training with breaks and break- out sessions/ discussions, followed by a ½ hour multiple choice test.
The candidate has to score 75% and above to be successful.
The papers are marked on the day and the result given.
